11-member Haqqani network group detained in Khost

KABUL group in southeastern Khost province.

The National Directorate of Security or NDS in a statement said the detained individuals wanted to carry out terrorist activities and to plant landmines but they were arrested.

Without providing exact date for their arrest, the statement said 11 AK-47 assault rifles, five pistols, 18 82-MM artillery shells and 6000 bullets were recovered from the detainees.

The statement alleged the detainees wanted to create insecurity and cause casualties to people during the holy month of Ramadan.

The Haqqani network has said nothing in this regard.
