KABUL Cricket Board (ACB) and a construction company on expanding a newly-built playground in southeastern Khost province, an official said on Thursday.
The agreement was signed between ACB deputy head Azizullah Fazli and the Faizi Mujadedi Construction Company. Azizullah Fazli told Pajhwok Afghan News the capacity for spectators would be enhanced at the ground.
New construction at Khost International Cricket Stadium would create capacity for 5,000 more spectators, he said, adding the project would cost 21 million afghanis to be paid by the ACB and take eight months to complete.
ACB Deputy Executive Director Dost Mohammad Nazari said the playground previously had the capacity only for 10,000 cricket fans, whose number was much higher but there was no extra place for them.
