President Ghani off to Turkmenistan for 3-day official visit

KABUL (Pajhwok): President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani on the head of a high level delegation has traveled to Turkmenistan for a three-day official visit, a statement from Presidential Palace said on Saturday.

During the trip the president would participate in a global conference on World Sustainable Transport which will be chaired by UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon.

According to the statement president Ghani would take part and address the inaugural ceremony of Asia Global Railway line Atamurad-Imam Aqina district. The event would be held in Turkmenabad City.

During the trip the president would hold separate meetings with different heads of the States including president of Turkmenistan, Georjia in which issues of bilateral and regional concern would be discussed.

Ghani would also visit exhibition of Turkmenistan products, Olympic city and garment factory. In addition he would address Ashgabat International Institutes.

Finance Minister Eklil Hakimi, Transportation Minister Mahmadullah Batash, Public Works Minister Mahmood Balegh and other cabinet members accompanied the president on this trip.
