JALALABAD (Pajhwok): Three Taliban militants have been killed and seven others wounded in a US drone strike in the Chaparhar district of eastern Nangarhar province, an official said on Thursday.
Nangarhar police spokesman Col. Hazrat Hussain Mashriqiwal told Pajhwok Afghan News the drone strike happened in the Gandi-Bagh area of the district on Wednesday night. Civilians suffered no casualties in the attack.
Meanwhile, a notorious Taliban commander was arrested during a joint operation by police and Afghan National Army (ANA) on the outskirt of the fourth police district of Jalalabad.
Mashriqiwal said the detainee was currently under security forces’ investigation. However, the police spokesman did not provide more details. The Taliban have not yet commented on the incidents.
