KHOST CITY (Pajhwok): The governor on Wednesday said some political circles were creating hurdles in executing the campaign against land grabbing in southeastern Khost province.
Hukam Khan Habibi added the political circles were creating hurdles to make the campaign against land usurpers a failure for their own interests.
The governor mentioned at a press conference here the land --- two townships for teachers in Khost City and in Thanai district, the refugee township, industrial park and Samwat Bagh area --- so far reclaimed from illegal occupants.
Habibi said another big problem that had a negative impact on governance were armed disputes between tribes on land ownership.
The governor said some provincial council members were among internal and external circles who were fueling disputes among tribes for their own interest.
“Since taking charge as the governor, I have been trying to find solution to tribal disputes, but there has been little success.”
The governor asked security organs to take action against elements trying to fuel tribal differences and bring them to justice.
He said projects including the provincial civil airport, a power station, key agriculture development projects, canals, roads, big bridges and others were launched in Khost last year.
