KABUL National Security Advisor Hanif Atmar and his Indian counterpart Dr. Ajit Doval have discussed bilateral security and political cooperation during a meeting in Moscow.
The two national security advisors met in Moscow, the Russian capital, on the sidelines of the eighth high-level international security conference on May 24-25, said Qadir Shah, a spokesman for the National Security Council, President Ashraf Ghani’s security team.
Shah said Atmar and Doval had a detailed discussion on bilateral security and political cooperation and a multifaceted strategy to support and strengthen the Afghan security forces.
Atmar invited his Indian counterpart to visit Afghanistan and Doval accepted the invitation, according Shah.
The advisors also discussed preparations for an expected special meeting between President Ghani and Indian prime minister Narendra Modi on the sidelines of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation's (SCO) to be held in June in Astana, the Kazakh capital.
