PESHAWAR (Pajhwok): An Afghan citizen has been detained at the Islamabad airport with 23 passports, a leading Pakistani newspaper reported.

Azeemullah was intercepted when he was about to board a Kabul-bound flight late on Friday, Dawn quoted unnamed officials as saying.

Twenty-two of the passports belonged to Afghan government officials and one to an Afghan civilian. All passports were stamped with Japanese visas.

It added the detainee had been handed over to the Federal Investigation Agency for investigation.
