ASADABAD (Pajhwok): At least seven Daesh or self-styled Islamic State (IS) militants were killed in a drone strike in eastern Kunar province on Monday, police said.
Provincial Police Chief Maj. Gen. Jumma Gul Himmat told Pajhwok Afghan News the NATO-operated drone targeted a Daesh hideout in mountainous Talona area of Watapur district at around 11am today morning.
As a result, he said, seven IS militants were killed, including a commander, with civilians escaping unharmed.
There has been so far no word from insurgents about the latest drone strike.
