LASHKARGAH (Pajhwok): One policeman and four Taliban have been killed and three Afghan National Army (ANA) Soldiers wounded in separate clashes in southern Helmand and central Logar provinces, officials said on Wednesday.
Four Taliban were killed and three army personnel injured during the Taliban’s overnight attack in the Gereshk district of Helmand province, Governor Spokesman Umar Zwak said.
But Taliban’s Spokesman Qari Yousuf Ahmadi claimed 13 ANA soldiers had been killed in the attack. Ahmadi did not talk about the Taliban’s casualties.
Separately, a policeman was killed and two others injured during attack early morning on police convoy in the Mohammad Agha district of Logar.
Taliban have not spoken about the clash but the group’s Spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid claimed the group’s fighters captured eight Afghan Local Police (ALP) personnel from Mohammad Agha district on Tuesday evening.
