<p><a href="/en/afganistan/kabul" class="glossify-link">KABUL</a> (Pajhwok): The government on Saturday announced to introduce nominees for the six cabinet slots currently led by acting officials, to the lower house for vote of confidence.</p>
<p>Abdur Rauf Ibrahimi, the <a href="/en/wolesi-jirga" class="glossify-link">Wolesi Jirga</a> was expected to be introduced by second vice-president, Mohammad Sarwar Danish today, but the Presidential Palace in a letter told the lower house the nominees for six vacant ministries would be introduced all together.</p>
<p>However, he said that the government should introduce its picks for all seven ministries currently headed by acting officials.</p>
<p>The Ministry of Education, Ministry of Information and Culture, Ministry of Industry and Commerce, Ministry of Energy and Water, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Mines and Petroleum and Ministry of Urban Development and Housing are currently led by acting officials.</p>
<p>Ibrahimi said acting ministers and departmental heads could not perform duty for a period of more than two months according to constitution, asking the government not violate the law.</p>
<p>He said that the work period of three members of Supreme Court was also over and the government should introduce three new nominees for the apex court and Afghan Red Crescent <a href="/en/society" class="glossify-link">Society</a> for prevention of legal vacuum.</p>
<p>Chaman Shah Etimadi, a lawmaker from southern Ghazni province, about the continuation of jobs of acting ministers, said, “The acting officials story continues from the past four years, the people cannot expect any good performance from the government if the situation continues,”</p>
<p>On the other hand, Munawar Shah Bahaduri, head of national economy commission of the house, presented his report about the performance of the leadership of Da <a href="/en/afghanistan" class="glossify-link">Afghanistan</a> Bank (DAB).</p>
<p>He said that the report showed the leadership of DAB was weak in its administration.</p>
<p>“Negligence and discriminatory behavior of the bank head have caused the Afghani currency value fell against foreign currencies, particularly USD,” he said.</p>
<p>Bahaduri said that the DAB head should be summoned for not attending any of the Wolesi Jirga sessions on national economy and respond to the public concerns. Most of the lawmakers endorsed Bahaduri’s suggestion for summoning the DAB head.</p>
