CHARIKAR convoy in the Bagram district of central Parwan province on Friday, injuring one soldier, an official said.
The Bagram district chief, Saifullah Bidar, said the blast took place in Nasro village of the district at around 5am Friday morning.
He said the foreign troops were on a patrol in the area when came under attack. One foreign soldier was wounded and their tank destroyed in the blast, he added.
Parwan police chief Brig. Gen. Mehfoozullah Walizada confirmed the blast, but said he had no details because the area remained cordoned off by the foreign forces.
The Taliban have claimed credit for the attack, with their spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid claiming it killed five American soldiers.
“We can confirm that an IED exploded during a route clearance convoy of Resolute Support forces in Bagram district, Parwan province, however no injuries were sustained.” NATO said in a statement.
