MAZAR-I-SHARIF (Pajhwok): Three individuals, including a foreign pilot, were killed and three military personnel wounded in Sunday morning when a helicopter crashed in northern Balkh province.
Mohammad Hanif Rezaee, spokesman for the 209th Shaheen Military Corps, told Pajhwok Afghan News the incident took place near a military base at 7:30am.
The chopper went down due to technical issues, he said, adding three people, including a foreign pilot, were killed. Three others army personnel were wounded and four others rescued.
The injured are said to be in stable condition. He added the helicopter, having the capacity to fly 10 people, was taking off for Faryab province when it crashed.
