Rockets fired into Ghazni City during Ghani’s visit

GHAZNI CIGTY (Pajhwok): Two rockets hit the capital of southern Ghazni province during President Ashraf Ghani’s visit on Thursday, an official said.

A security official, who wished go unnamed, told Pajhwok Afghan News one rocket landed near the governor’s house at around 11:00am.

He said the rocket fell near the governor’s office when President Ghani was chairing a meeting there.

The source revealed another rocket landed on the Kabul-Kandahar highway. The strikes caused no casualties, he concluded.

First Lady Rula Ghani, Eng. Mohammad Khan, Dr. Rasoul Talib and several other officials are accompanying the president during his visit to Ghazni.

There was no immediate claim of responsibility for the attack. Presidential spokesman Haroon Chakhansouri the rocket fell far from the governor's office.
