KABUL in Dorbaba district of eastern Nangarhar province, officials said Friday.
Nangarhar governor’s spokesman, Attaullah Khogyani told Pajhwok Afghan News that the mosque was torched in Sur Kandaw area of Dorbaba district.
He said the area was located in border with Nazian district, where Daesh or so called Islamic State (IS) insurgents engage in frequent clashes with Afghan forces.
Copies of the Holy Quran were also burnt during the fire, Khogyani said.
Earlier, an attack in a mosque in Rodat district of Nangarhar had left several worshipers killed and wounded.
In the past, many schools have also been set on blaze by unidentified people in similar attempts in Nangarhar.
