MoI spokesman Najibullah Danish told at a press conference here that 40 peope were arrested in capital Kabul alone.
He said the arrested persons were involved in forgery, interference and fraud in the election process. Danish said President Ashraf Ghani had ordered civil and military official not to interfere in the election process.
He said government officials who interfered in the elections would be held accountable in light of evidence offered against them.
He further said police had started their investigation of government officials who interfered in the elections.
