Efforts on to find missing Afghan consulate member

KABUL in Kabul said in a statement on Wednesday.

In response to a news item published in Daily Kabul Times, the Embassy of Pakistan clarified no Afghan diplomat, rather a local staff Akhund Khel, of the Consulate General of Afghanistan, Karachi was missing since May, 2017.

The Daily Kabul Times stated Minister of Foreign Affairs Salahuddin Rabbani met with Pakistani ambassador to Kabul Nasrullah Khan Zahid yesterday.

During the meeting, Rabbani once again asked Pakistan to follow the case of Afghan diplomat, who was mysteriously martyred inside the Afghan Consulate in Karachi.

The minister also asked the Pakistani envoy to help find the Afghan general consul Akhund Khel, who went missing during his trip from Karachi to Quetta.

Pakistani security agencies were making hectic efforts to find the whereabouts of the missing staff member of the Afghan Consulate General.

The meeting was held at the ambassador’s request to discuss next meeting of Afghanistan Pakistan Action plan for peace and Solidarity (APAPPS), according to the statement.
