ZARANJ (Pajhwok): Taliban gunmen pulled out a man from a passenger vehicle and shot him dead in the Khashrud district northwestern Nimroz province, the district chief said on Friday,
Haji Jalil Watandost told Pajhwok Afghan News the incident took place on the Dilaram-Khashrud highway two days ago in the limits of the Kashrud district.
He said the man’s body was found yesterday with a Taliban letter attached to his body.
In the letter, the Taliban said the slain person, Mehrullah, son of Sher Mohamad, was a resident of Faizabad district of northern Jawzjan province and was an uprising commander of Qashlaq Gul base.
The district chief said the body was with them as no relatives of the dead man had turned up to receive it.
The Taliban have so far said nothing in this regard.
