KABUL Football Federation (AFF), including its head, for alleged sexual and physical abuse of female players of the national team, an official tweeted on Sunday.
Earlier, the Guardian quoted senior figures associated with the Afghan women squad as saying the abuse took place at AFF’s main office and at a training camp in Jordan in February this year.
On Saturday, The Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) said in a statement that the governing body was investigating the matter. Last week, AGO said it would probe the allegations at the earliest possible.
However, the AFF has rejected the allegations as baseless.
Presidential Advisor Fazel Fazly wrote on his Twitter account that after the investigation of the issue, the AGO suspended the six members of AFF, including Keramuddin Karim -- head of the federation.
The tweet offered no further details. And the AGO has not yet commented in this regard.
