KABUL (Pajhwok): The Newly appointed Defense Minister Asadullah Khalid on Saturday stressed over adopting offensive strategy and said security forces would be more merciless and brutal against militants.
Afghan forces have mostly used the tactic of being defensive against the enemy in order to avoid causalities of security personnel.
Khalid, who took the charge as the acting defense minister following a decree by President Ghani last week was introduced to the ministry personnel by National Security Advisor Hamdullah Muhib.
Khalid vowed further reforms in the Ministry of Defense and a thorough attention to the Afghan forces, who he described as the owners and decision makers of this country.
Khalid assured that non-of the soldier would feel alone at the battleground and will pay greater attention to their logistic and supply needs.
He said: “The Afghan forces are the owners of this country as he described the importance of the duty of the Afghan Army who are defending the country at the frontlines of the battle.”
He urged the people to avoid giving him congratulatory messages the defence ministry position until he has earned gains against the enemy.
Meanwhile, NSA Hamdullah Muhib said there was clear definition for the country enemy and friend the one who destructing the country is our enemy.
He further added: “we will never deal with the sacrifices of our security forces, and there will be no difference between good and bad terrorists and will carry out peace talks with those who are interested in reconciliation.”
