FARAH CITY (Pajhwok): A girls school has been blown up with explosives by unknown assailants in the capital of western Farah province, local officials said on Thursday.
Sadiq Ahmad Haleemi, deputy education director, said the school was destroyed in Gunahgan village of Farah City last night.
He said no arrest had been made so far in connection with incident. Hundreds of girls studied in the school.
Fazel Ahmad, a resident of the locality, said the school was dynamited by unknown gunmen on Wednesday night.
The incident comes two weeks after the Shaheed Benafsha High School was set afire on the outskirts of Farah City, partially gutting the structure. The Taliban had denied hand in the incident and called it a government plot.
