KABUL (Pajhwok): Top security officials on Wednesday held a meeting in Kabul and discussed how to prevent civilian causalities, an official said.
National Security Council (NSC) spokesman Tariq Aryan told Pajhwok Afghan News National Security Advisor (NSA) Hamdullah Muhib presided over the meeting attended by Minister of Defense Asadullah Khalid and Minister of Interior Affairs Masood Andrabi.
He said the leadership of the security sector assessed the security situation of Herat, Badakhshan and Balkh provinces.
The security chiefs also discussed civilians’ causalities in Barmal district of southern Paktika, in Hesarak district of eastern Nangarhar, Laghman and Kunduz provinces.
Aryan further added the meeting stressed protection of civilians during operations and issued necessary directives in this regard to the authorities concerned.
