KABUL (Pajhwok): Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs Salahuddin Rabbani and Kyrgyz Sooronbay Jeenbekov have discussed bilateral cooperation, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said on Saturday.
Jeenbekov hailed Afghanistan as a very good friend of his country in the region and promised long-term cooperation on bringing peace and promoting human resource capacity of the war-torn nation.
In a statement from the ministry, Rabbani highlighted commonalities and shared values between the two countries and called for implementation of the CASA-1000 project.
The foreign minister also stressed the need for the implementation of the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan-Afghanistan railway project.
Rabbani paid a visit to the international Silk Road Exhibition, observed Afghanistan’s cultural booth and talked to Afghans studying in various institutions of Kyrgyzstan.
“I hope our students, who are busy pursuing knowledge in various disciplines, shine well in educational institutions of this country and have their homeland in mind to be able to serve their people one day,” Rabbani remarked.
At the end of the event, Rabbani awarded certificates of appreciation to four of the Afghan students with outstanding academic achievements.
