KABUL (Pajhwok): Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Dr. Abdullah Abdullah on Thursday urged Germany to continue its cooperation with Afghan security forces in the fight against terrorism and their training, equipping and advising.
Abdullah made these remarks during a meeting with Thomas Silberhon, State Secretary at the Ministry of Defense, at the Sepidar Palace on Thursday, a press release from the CEO office said.
Abdullah thanked Germany for continued support of its forces with their Afghan counterparts and praised the new decision of the German federal parliament on continuing mission of their forces in Afghanistan.
The CEO called for continued role of German forces in combating terrorism, training, equipping and advising Afghan security forces and said the national unity government desired continued German cooperation in all areas, in particular the training of Afghan armed forces.
For his part, Thomas Silberhon reassured continuation of his country's cooperation with the Afghan security forces, adding that the Afghan security forces had made good progress and done well in disposing of terrorist attacks.
The two sides discussed peace talks, the role of regional countries in bringing Taliban's to talks and fighting ISIS and international terrorism.
