KABUL (Pajhwok): Afghan security forces have conducted 190 joint operations against terrorism, crimes and drug trafficking in the past 20 days, an official said on Thursday.
“ANDSF have conducted 190 joint and special operations over the past 20 days across the country,” MoI spokesman Nasrat Rahimi told reports at Government Media and Information Center (GMIC).
As a result of these operations, 816 insurgent including 24 of their leaders were killed, 318 were wounded and 160 others arrested, he added.
Rahimi said that in the past 20 days, 534 criminal incidents have been addressed by the police in Kabul and the provinces, and 690 suspects were arrested in connection to these incidents.
He said that 248 criminals were arrested in Kabul, of which 18 were organized criminals.
Highlighting the 20 percent decline in crime graph in Kabul comparing to previous month, he stressed that there is no mercy on any criminal and all the criminals are being held accountable to law.
Further he added that 278 operations were carried out by the Counter Narcotics Police in Kabul and other provinces in the past 20 days, as a result 223 smugglers were arrested.
Fifty Four laboratories, two large drug storages and 53 tons of drugs have been discovered in these operations.
The ANP has dealt with 60 cases of violence against women over the past twenty days, and has placed the suspects under the law.
The MoI spokesman added that ANP will not allow any individual or group to disrupt the people’s normal life process.
