KABUL (Pajhwok): Kabul police arrested a reputed crime boss Abdul Hamid Khurasani on Tuesday as he attempted to turn a protest demonstration violent, an official said.
Nasrat Rahimi, Ministry of Interior (MoI) spokesman, told Pajhwok Afghan News that Kurasani was detained after he tried to spark violence during a demonstration in Kabul today (Tuesday).
He accused Khurasani of his involvement in major criminal activities including extortions, kidnappings, murder and banditry. Rahimi added Khurasani had been placed on the MoI most wanted criminals list.
He further said detained Khurasani had clashed with police forces on numerous occasions.
In the past, Abdul Hamid Khurasani was also accused of torching the national flag in a video.
