KABUL.

Addressing a conference ‘An investigative conference on peace and security,” Karzai said, “Peace in Afghanistan is the end of war and return to a normal and peaceful life, whenever we reach peace we should not let any extremist group such as Daesh to stay in Afghanistan and no one should grow them here.”

He said ensuring peace was possible with the unity of Afghans. “We know the US and Pakistan have important role in the Afghan peace because. They started the war in our country and they should it.”

Karzai said the US and its allies should have full confidence of Afghanistan’s neighbors and Iran should fully trust the peace process as well as the US and its allies should not use the Afghan land for its dispute with Iran.

“Pakistan’s intelligence agencies in collusion with US intelligence created extremism in Afghanistan, the Afghans should no longer become victims of US-Pakistan deals,” he said.

He was also hopeful about US, China and Russia trilateral meeting and said the Afghan peace process should not become a rivalry process between super powers.

“This process should not be a process of confrontation, but a process of cooperation of powers”, he added. “We do not want the peace to turn into another page of instability in Afghanistan,” Karzai said.

Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Dr. Abdullah Abdullah, who was also present in the conference, said now was the time for direct peace talks between the government and the Taliban so the Afghans on their own determine their fate.
