31 Taliban rebels killed in Ghazni offensives: Officials

GHAZNI (Pajhwok): Local official on Sunday said 31 Taliban insurgent have been killed during an operation and a suicide bomb explosion in southern of Ghazni province.

Governor spokesman, Mohammad Arif  Noori told Pajwok Afghan News 33 Taliban rebels suffered casualties in Afghan Security forces airstrikes, suicide explosion and land operation in Qarabagh and Nawa districts on Saturday.

He said that 15 Taliban militants were killed when a suicide vest of one of three suicide bombers detonated in Musa Kalim area of Nawa district late on Saturday.

He said that a Taliban commander named Silab was among five militants killed in two airstrikes in Sherabad village of Qarabagh district on Saturday.

However, Taliban spokesman Zabiullah Mujahid said , that no such an incident happened in Nawa district.

He said that only civilians were killed during Afghan forces operation in Qarabagh district of Ghazni.
