Couple among 3 arrested over selling child in Herat

HERAT CITY (Pajhwok): Three persons, including a couple, have been arrested over selling a baby child in western Herat province, police said on Thursday.

Acting police spokesman Farhad Frotan told Pajhwok Afghan News a man and his wife sold a child of their neighbor to another woman against 6,000 afghanis.

He said the couple managed to escape the area after selling the child, but after security forces received information about the incident, they reached the area and arrested those involved.

The couple had confessed to their crime, saying it was all because of their poor economic situation.
