KABUL) on Thursday official started the implementation of the Independent Electoral Complaints Commission (IECC) decisions, an official said.
IEC Secretary Habiburrahman Nang told Pajhwok Afghan News that commissioners of the two election bodies have held a meeting on Wednesday and agreed upon a system introduced by the IT Department for the Special Audit process.
He said sampling of the process was conducted in front of the IEC and IECC commissioners and the official implementation of IEC decision began in front of the national and international observers.
Earlier, the IEC said that both election bodies have agreed on a mechanism for the special audit of 10 percent of total 137,630 votes and 15 percent of the total 102,012 votes.
IEC Secretariat said under the IEC decision, the Independent Electoral Complaint Commission (IECC) would conduct a special audit of 10 percent biometric data of the 137,630 votes and 15 percent biometric data of the 102,012 votes.
IEC has arranged a system that would randomly make percentage of votes from polling stations of every province for the process of special audit.
The members of both commissions have welcomed the development of such a system and approved it.
After approval of the system to randomly pick votes from polling stations for special audit, 10 percent votes would be chosen from 137,630 and 15 percent from 102, 012 for the special inspection of its data.
