<p>HERAT CITY (Pajhwok): Unidentified gunmen killed an a police officer in western Herat province on Wednesday morning, an official said.</p>
<p>Abdul Ahad Walizada, police spokesman, told Pajhwok Afghan News Abdul Karim, the crime branch head, was killed in limits of the 6<sup>th</sup> police district of Heat City at 7:45am.</p>
<p>The attackers managed to escape the area, he said, adding the security forces were investigating the incident. There was no immediate claim of responsibility for the attack.</p>
