KABUL struggles to check the spread of COVID-10, Indian diplomats and consulate staff have been moved from Jalalabad and Herat City to Kabul.

All Indian staffers at the two consulates were taken to Kabul to protect them from the coronavirus in the country, bordering — Iran one of the worst-hit nations.

Press Trust of India, citing unnamed sources, reported on Sunday staff from the two consulates had been shifted to Kabul as Nangarhar and Herat provinces lacked adequate medical services.

At least two foreign diplomats and four officials of the NATO‘s Resolute Support Mission in Afghanistan have tested positive for the virus, which originated in China three months ago.

The pandemic has claimed nearly 28,000 lives besides infecting about 6,00,000 people in 183 countries around the globe, according to international media reports.
