MAIMANA (Pajhwok): A number of children with congenital heart disease and their family members who traveled to Indian for treatment stranded there due to coronavirus and want to return home.
According to Pajhwok report last year around 2,000 children suffering from Atrial Septal Defect (ASD) had traveled to Indian with the support of the Afghanistan (ARCS) for the treatment of their children.
Stranded Afghans through video clips and photos available with Pajhwok Afghan News said they have left with now money and have no place in India to live because every one of them remained in India for months have no resources to stay there.
Saeedurrahman, the resident of Ghazni province, said he had 40,000 Afghanis which had finished now he has no money and there is no one to give him loan.
He sent a video to Pajhwok Afghan News and urged to convey his message to concern authorities so that someone could reach to them for help.
Enayatullah, the resident of Kabul province, in his message said the he remained stranded in India and spent 50,000 Afghanis and now had no money to support himself. He said he gave $700 to the ARC for the treatment of his son and now struggled in India since living in quarantine.
Nelab Mubarez, seceratey general of the ARC, said that Afghan patients and their relatives remained stranded in India because the Indian government stopped international flights.
She said that a formal letter to the Civil Aviation Authority had been dispatched regarding the Afghan patients stranded in Indian.
The issue had been shared with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs as well but no positive response had been received, she said.
