KABUL and India have exchanged views on the ongoing peace process, regional consensus around it and a humanitarian ceasefire.

In a phone conversation on Wednesday, Foreign Minister Haneef Atmar and Indian National Security Advisor Ajit Kumar Doval also discussed medical support to Afghanistan amid the Covid-19 pandemic.

A statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said Atmar welcomed India’s humanitarian assistance to Afghanistan during the current pandemic and called for greater cooperation.

“‪In response, Doval stressed the importance of regional and international consensus around the Afghan peace process and reaffirmed his government’s support for a stable and peaceful Afghanistan,” the statement added.
