KABUL, predicts a business leader.

Hossein Saleemi, head of the Iran-Afghanistan Joint Chamber of Commerce, said at least one border between the neighbours remained open for transit.

IRNA quoted Saleemi as saying exports had been slow because drivers and shipments had to be quarantined and examined cautiously due to the virus.

As a result of the Covid-19 outbreak, he added, Chinese export to Afghanistan had come to a halt, giving Iran a good opportunity.

Iran’s exports to the landlocked country this solar year would reach $3.1 billion, compared to $2.7 billion last year, the official estimated.
