KABUL (Pajhwok): High Council for Peace and National Reconciliation head Dr. Abdullah Abdullah on Sunday expressed his deep concern over Afghan lives lost in past weeks across the country.
He wrote, “deeply pained by the loss of precious lives over the past weeks across the country from Harirud to Kabul, Ningarhar and other provinces.”
The former CEO extended sympathy to families of the victims and assured all Afghans that their aim was to protect and serve them honestly and with commitment to their welfare.
He tweeted, “As we commit to form a more inclusive, accountable and competent administration, we are also reminded of the hard lessons to respect laws, fight the Coronavirus, fraud, injustice & corruption.”
Abdullah added: “We now need to come together as a nation, strive to seek solutions that are practical.”
He said, “No individual or group can impose their will by force or against the national interest. We cannot afford to squander opportunities & international goodwill, especially for a just & comprehensive peace through talks. I pledge to do my best to work with all sides. God bless.”
