Afghan forces emerge professional military, says NATO SCR

KABUL Stefano Pontecorvo has renewed support to Afghan security forces and said that Afghan forces became a professional force, a statement from the Ministry of Defence (MoD) said on Friday.

Acting Defence Minister Asadullah Khalid has held a video meeting with NATO SCR Stefano Pontecorvo and discussed Afghanistan’s security situation and NATO assistance to Afghan forces.

Khalid said that Afghan security forces were in better position than every time in the past and added that significant achievements had been made in war against terrorism and security situation.

NATO SCR hailed the achievements of Afghan forces and said that Afghan forces had become a totally professional force.

He said NATO would continue its support to Afghan forces and would remain committed in this regard.
