KABUL Bank (DBA) acting Governor Ajmal Ahmadi’s behavior with his deputies was against law and administrative principles, urging legal action against Ahmadi.
Four days back, DAB dismissed four of its employees, including the second deputy governor of the DAB over corruption.
According to some reports, DAB acting governor Ajmal Ahmadi has ordered security forces not to let the dismissed employees enter the bank.
Also on Monday, the first deputy governor of Da Afghanistan Bank DAB said he tried on Monday to submit his resignation in accordance with the presidential order but security guards denied him entry in violation of administrative rules.
Wahidullah Nosher wrote on his Facebook account that he wanted to formally tender his resignation to the acting governor, Ajmal Ahmadi, in compliance with verbal orders from the president.
“When I reached the bank, unfortunately security guards at the entrance did not allow me to enter,” Nosher complained, saying he returned home without insistence in order to protect the bank’s status and system.
Nosher alleged the behavior of the acting governor was in conflict with administrative rules and demanded an explanation over the incident.
Gulalai Noor Safi, a senator from northern Balkh province, told today’s session, “If DAB deputy governors have some seriously problems that should be addressed based on law and principles. It is not fair when such deputy governors are subjected to such behavior.”
Lotfullah Baba, another lawmaker from eastern Nangarhar province, said: “It would be shameful if a person in the cabinet does not know our national languages, according to my understanding, Ajmal Ahmadi is not an Afghan citizen.”
Baba said Ahmadi had acted against law by not allowing a former high profile figure to his office.
Mohammad Hanif Hanifi, a lawmaker from central Uruzgan province, said: “What Ajmal Ahmadi has done for the ministry of trade and commerce that he is given DAB post.”
A number of other senators held similar views and urged the government to take legal action against Ahmady’s behavior.
Mohammad Akbar Stanekzai, second secretary of the senate, said: “It is very painful for me when a former first deputy governor of DAB was denied entery to the bank by security forces.”
Senate chairman Fazal Hadi Muslimyar also termed the acting DAB governor’s behavior as against law and principles and promised to share the issue with President Ashraf Ghnai for a decision against Ajmal Ahmadi. He also tasked the finance commission to investigate the issue closely.
