KABUL (Pajhwok): The US-supported intra-Afghan negotiations, expected to begin next week, would bring peace to the country, hopes former president Hamid Karzai.
In an interview with a UAE-based TV channel, he accused the US of committing grave mistakes in Afghanistan.
Karzai told Al Arabiya the so-called American war or terror had triggered most of the problems his country had encountered in the past 20 years.
“Serious mistakes were made by the United States of America. They did not conduct their so-called war on terror from where it was coming.”
He accused the Americans of bombing the Afghan villages and arresting of Afghan people -- something that led to differences between him and the US.
Commenting on the US-Taliban deal, he the most important thing was an end to hostilities and the withdrawal of American.
