JALALABAD (Pajhwok): Pakistan’s Consul General in Jalalabad Abdidullah on Wednesday said the responsibility to maintain order outside the consulate lied with Afghan authorities and individuals arriving at the visa window were important to them.
He said order outside the consulate was responsibility of Afghan authorities, and the consulate was responsible for issuance of visa to Afghans.
He said they issued 1,000 visas daily and demanded a proper public order outside the consulate building.
“Our responsibility is the individual who comes to the window with necessary documents,” said Abidullah.
Fifteen people, including 11 women, were killed and a dozen others wounded in a stampede outside the Pakistani consulate on Wednesday morning.
