NATO general vows full support to Afghan forces

<p>JALALABAD (Pajhwok): <a href="/en/nato" class="glossify-link">NATO</a> and US Forces Special Operations Commander Brig. Gen. Evans on Tuesday assured full support to Afghan security forces under any circumstances, an official said.</p>

<p>Gen. Evans made the remarks during a meeting with the Military Commission in eastern Laghman province, Governor Spokesperson AsadullahDawlatzai said.</p>

<p>Selab Corps Commander Brig. Gen. ShafiqullahRasoulzai, Police Chief Col. ManzoorStanikzai, First Infantry Brigade Commander Brig. Gen. ZalmaiNabar and National Directorate Security (<a href="/en/nds" class="glossify-link">NDS</a>) Head MahmoodSamimi were present at the meeting.</p>

<p>Governor RahmatullahYarmal briefed the meeting on overall security situation of Laghman province and coordination among different organs of security forces.</p>

<p>He said as a result of positive coordination, many enemy attacks had been thwarted and many criminals arrested.</p>

<p>Yarmal added: “We believe in real peace but if the enemy is hell-bent on fighting, then our security forces are ready to defend the nation.”</p>

<p>NATO Gen. Evans reaffirmed NATO’s security support to Afghan forces and added the alliance would support Afghan forces in the fight against terrorism in every condition.</p>
