HERAT CITY (Pajhwok): The acting police chief for the Oba district of western Herat province was killed in a clash on Monday morning, an official said.
Police spokesman Abdul Ahad Walizada told Pajhwok Afghan News Mohammad Rafiq Alokozai was killed during a gunbattle with militants.
He said one policeman was injured in the firefight that occurred in the morning. The Taliban have so far said nothing about the clash.
