KABUL Pajhwok): The Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) on Tuesday said 230 more people were diagnosed with Covid-19 in the past 24 hour in the country.
The ministry in a statement said 1,654 people underwent tests during the past 24 hours and 230 people tested positive, pushing the nation’s tally to 48,363.
It said 87 cases were detected in Kabul, 12 in Herat, 14 in Kandahar, 10 in Balkh, 9 in Nangahar, 18 in Takhar, 15 in Parwan, , 9 in Helmand, 8 in Laghman, 3 in Ghor, 13 in Kapisa , 8 in Panjsher, 4 in Uruzgan, 12 in Ghazni, one each in Nimroz , Uruzgan, Badghis and Zabul provinces.
At least 49 individuals were recovered from the pandemic during the period, taking the recoveries to 38,033.
The ministry said six people lost their lives to the virus during the period, with the total deaths reaching 1,908.
The ministry has announced that the second wave of the pandemic has begun in the country and people should follow the virus preventive guidelines.
