KABUL (Pajhwok): Hizb-e-Islami Afghanistan (HIA) leader Gulbuddin Hekmatyar on Sunday alleged the government was busy distributing weapons to people to fight the Taliban.
Addressing a gathering marking the 32nd anniversary of Russian troops withdrawal from Afghanistan, Hikmatyar said honest Mujahideen beat Soviet Union forces not the ones who inked protocols and agreement to protect them.
Hekmatyar said: “The government is busy in the formation of militia. We have information that weapons are imported in the containers of wheat and other goods and distributed to people who have the background of fighting the Taliban.”
He said US peace agreement with the Taliban was the need of US because the Washington had no other option but to withdraw its forces.
He said the ongoing fighting had been imposed by the US on Afghanistan due to which hundred thousands of Afghans had been killed.
Hekmatyar said he chosen not to reconcile with Presidential Palace, adding that government failed to implement peace agreement with them.
“Presidential Palace is behaving with us like the Khalq and Parcham was behaving with us. We are forced to do whatever Parcham did with us. Listen we will not hastate to seek our right irrespective of circumstances and challenged,” he said.
Hekmatyar also warned against widespread protest in days to come.
