SHARANA (Pajhwok): The governor on Tuesday said over 1,100 projects worth 2.3b afghanis were completed and put into service in southeastern Paktika province last year.
MujibulRahman Samkanai told a press conference here that 1,109 big and small projects worth 2.3b afghanis were completed and put into service in Paktika province last year.
The projects included 974 agricultural projects, 90 education, 33 infrastructural sector, nine health projects and three social security projects.
The governor added 62 more projects were underway in the province with $2.5m fund from nongovernmental and international aid agencies.
“Last year, radar system of the airport and communication systems were activated and department of agriculture, irrigation and livestock fixed weather forecast devices in the province,” he added.
Khorshid Aman Katawazai, head of civil society’s coordination office in Paktika, said many projects were completed in the province, adding that some of these projects were not free from corruption.
Paktika residents have been complaining about problems in the health, education and other sectors in the province.
