KABUL (Pajhwok): Afghanistan and Iran have agreed to speed up the renovation of cross-border posts, reports an Iranian media outlet.
Deputy foreign ministers of the two countries arrived at the agreement during a meeting, the state-run news agency IRNA said.
Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister Mohsen Baharvand and his Afghan counterpart Meerwais Nab on the Dogharoon-Islam Qala border.
They inspected the process renovation of border customs posts and reviewed transit and traffic issues, the news agency said.
Baharvand and Nab agreed to solve bilateral problems only through a joint border committee.
The deputy foreign ministers exchanged views on the importance of trade development, efforts to organise refugees commute, combat human and drug trafficking.
The fight against international terrorism and dispatch of humanitarian aid to alleviate suffering caused by natural disasters also came up for discussion.
