PUL-I-ALAM (Pajhwok): At least 24 people have been killed and 112 more wounded in a massive truck bombing in central Logar province, the Public Health Department said on Saturday.
The bombing happened close to a guest house of Azra people in limits the first police district of Pul-i-Alam, the provincial capital, on Friday evening.
Public Health Director Rassoul Gul Samar told Pajhwok Afghan News that 24 bodies and 112 injured individuals had been brought to hospital.
Provincial Council Chairman Hasibullah Stanikzai earlier said 30 people were killed and more than a hundred wounded in the massive bombing.
He said at least 25 people had been trapped under the debris of only one roof that collapsed due to the strong explosion.
Eyewitnesses said the attack also shattered windowpanes in the Naib Aminullah Khan Hospital, nearby commercial buildings and some houses.
The bombing took place in the compound of the guesthouse, where students from Azra district, local police and some civilians were staying.
There was no immediate claim of responsibility for the bombing.
