MAZAR-I- SHARIF (Pajhwok): MirwaisHotak, the administrative chief of Kaldar district of northern Balkh province, has died of Covid-19 disease, hospital sources said on Sunday.
Dr.GhausuddinAnwari, head of the Regional Hospital in Mazar-i-Sharif, the provincial capital, told Pajhwok Afghan News that Hotak had been in hospital with them for more than a week. He was discharged after improvement and his family transferred him home from the hospital.
Anwari added that the health condition of the Kaldar district chief once again deteriorated at home and he died on arrival at Mazar-e-Kuwaid 1 Hospital.
MunirFarhad, spokesman for the governor, also confirmed to Pajhwok that MirwaisHotak, the district chief of Kaldar, had died of Covid-19 disease.
Mirwais Hotak was about 45 years old. For the past eight years, he had been serving as district governor in Chamtal and Kaldar districts of Balkh province.
It is noteworthy that the third wave of coronavirus is spreading rapidly in the country and has reached a crisis level.
