1309 new Covid-19 cases, 59 deaths in 24 hours

KABUL (Pajhwok):  The Ministry of Public Health on Friday announced registering 1309 new Covid-19 cases and 59 deaths from the infection during the last 24 hours.

The ministry in a statement said 4854 tests were carried out since yesterday and the virus was detected in 1309 people, taking the overall tally to 123,465.

However the ministry did not share province to province figures of the detected cases.

The ministry said 776 people recovered from the fatal disease during the past 24 hours, pushing the total recoveries to 72700.

The infection killed 59 people during the period, with the total death toll climbing to 5107.
