KABUL (Pajhwok): Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu has said his country is committed to continuing cooperation with Afghanistan in diverse fields, including the peace process.
A statement from the Presidential Palace on Friday said President Ashraf Ghani met with Turkish foreign minister Mevlut Cavusoglu in Tashkent, the capital of Uzbekistan, on the sidelines of a conference.
The two sides discussed lasting and dignified peace and security in Afghanistan and further strengthening friendly relations and cooperation between the two countries.
The Turkish Foreign Minister on behalf of Turkish president Recep Tayyip Erdogan assured President Ghani that his country is committed to continuing cooperation with Afghanistan in various fields, including the peace process.
President Ghani said Afghanistan and Turkey were two historical and strategic partners and thanked them for their continued cooperation with Afghanistan over the years.
