KABUL (Pajhwok): The price of petrol has increased while that of cooking oil decreased in Kabul, market sources said on Saturday.
The price of one litre of petrol increased from 55 Afghanis to 57 Afghanis but the price of diesel remained at 57 Afghanis as of last week’s.
The price of liquefied gas unchanged.
Mohammad Sharif, a liquefied gas seller in KalolaPushta locality, said the price of one kilogram of gas remained at 60 afghanis.
The price of cooking oil
Zmarai Safi, head of the Food Traders’ Union, said the price of 16 liters of Malaysian cooking oil declined from 1,950afs to 1,900afs. He said the price of cooking oil decreased because its price dropped in global markets.
He added that a 49-kg sack of Indian sugar cost 2,400afs, t 24kg of Pakistani rice 2,350afs, a 49-kg bag of Kazakhstani flour was sold for 1,700afs, a kilogram of African black tea for 320afs and the same quantity of Indonesian green tea cost 350afs.
HamedSofizada, a retailer in Dahan-i-Bagh market, said a 49-kg bag of Kazakhstani flour cost 1,750afs, 24kg of Pakistani rice 2,4000afs, a 49-kg sack of Indian sugar 2,420afs, a 16-litre tin of Malaysian cooking oil 1,920afs, a kilogram of African black tea cost 350afs and the same quantity of Indonesian green tea 370afs.
Gold prices unchanged.
Mohammad Javid, a jeweler in Lycee Mariam neighborhood, said the price of one gram of Arabian gold remained stable at 3,650 afs as of last week and the same quantity of Russian gold at 2,950afs.
Haji Dadgul, deputy head of Sara-i-Shahzada Moneychangers Union in Kabul said that one US dollar was accounted for 79.50 Afghanis and 1,000 Pakistani rupees consumed 490 Afghanis, compared to last week’s rates of 79.40afs and 490afs respectively.
